Holiday Favorite

Time to make Aunt Emma's fruitcake receipe.  A family favorite.  This year I added some pecans.  It is fun to give them to special friends and family.  I treasure this old old receipe.  Next up is another family favorite cookie "no names".  We have always called them that because we don't know the name.  I have made these since the boys were young.  This year I hope to have my granddaughters helping me make them.

Bringing Home The Tree

We always vow to not get a tree too large and we always get a tree too large.  This is my favorite kind of tree, Frazier Fur.  With lots of room for ornaments and cats to explore.  Lizzie seems to be spending the most time around the tree.

Merry Merry Christmas

Shopping done, packages being wrapped.  I don't know which is more fun, shopping or wrapping.  I guess both are fun.  But the most fun is giving them.

SHE ART Workshop

Here are a couple of my creations from the SheArt Workshop by Christy Tomlinson.  I am having fun making my projects.  She is a great teacher and fun to listen to (on my PC).  I like how just "wings" it and makes mistakes and just goes with the flow.  Finished week 1, now moving onto week 2.

Bringing the outside in!

Summer Gardens 2011

I love being outside this time of year.  We have free entertainment compliments of a family of chipmonks living in our bushes in our back yard.  Lots of birds of all kinds.  They try to give each other space.  The chipmonk doesn't seem to mind the bird that is twice his size.

New bracelets from my studio today.

I am working on getting things together for the Artisan Weekend at Shupps Grove, PA on July 10th.  It is a great flea market set in a lovely grove of trees.  Lots of great dealers and great food.  A fun place to spend the day.  They have a special day for artisans once a month on the second Sunday.

FAIRY GARDEN

I enjoy my little Fairy Garden.  After I got it all together I realized I didn't have a fairy.  My friend Marilyn brought me a cute little fairy to add to my garden.  She seems very comfortable sitting on her little fairy bench.

ROYAL TEA May 5, 2011

We enjoyed tasty treats at the Royal Tea.  Scones and tea sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries and goodies fit for a queen.

ROYAL TEA

I am not sure which was more fun.  Getting ready for the party or the actual party.  I decided to host a typical English style afternoon tea and invite my "art girlz".  The invitation went out and everyone immediately got into the spirit.  Titles were announced, hats were created, dressed were chosen and the excitement started.  Of course, we wanted to include the Royal couple so I taped the affair so we could enjoy it together in all our finery!

Elden enjoying his cake, he even liked the Lemon Curd filling.

Ta Da

Lots of chocolate, lots of fun, lots of good food.

Happy Easter

Getting Ready for Easter

I had a great time with my grandsons making favors for the Easter table and decorating an "Easter Tree" for the centerpiece.  They had a hard time resisting the candy.  And the resistance soon fell prey to the love of chocolate.
